Swagbucks or Scour? Get paid to search!

So usually on this site, I rave about how much I love Swagbucks! I've already accumulated 851 by simply searching online. Well I've found another great site that awards you points for searching online. You can redeem these points for Visa giftcards worth $25, $50, or $100!


I have added this site to my list of legit paying sites you can make money online with. Here are the basics you need to know about Scour:



You can win a maximum of 3 points per search, but usually you get:
1 Point = Search, 1 Point = Vote, 1 Point = Comment

Points will be earned from the first 100 daily searches with a daily cap of 300 total points.

It's currently open to members of all countries, but the current rewards schedule for Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, U.S., and U.K is:

* 6,500 Rewards Points may be redeemed for a $25.00
* 12,500 Rewards Points may be redeemed for a $50.00
* 25,000 Rewards Points may be redeemed for a $100.00

The countries that weren't listed above are eligible to participate in the following rewards schedule:

* 50,000 Rewards Points may be redeemed for = $5.00

Scour is open to members 13 and older!

Another great feature is that, in addition to your regular Scour points, you are awarded 1 "Scour Giveaway" entry point with every search that you make. Each point enters you into our $1,000 giveaway drawing at the end of each month!


I know by now you're probably aching to sign up, but here are some other important things you should know about Scour so that you don't put your account at risk! The following is not tolerated and can either cause points to be deducted from your account, or you can be banned in full!

Searching:

* Searches of invalid characters:
o Example: asdfadfadsfsadfadslkal;kjfdlakjfdalsjfa, $@#%&^%^
* Suspicious non-human search patterns: Searches conducted by an automated script
o Example: X5648, X5647, X5646, X5645, X5644
* Repeated searches
o Example: a, ab, abc, abc1
* Spam Searches: Excessive one word searches that do not exhibit normal user behavior.
o Example: dog, park, vote, starks, green, sand, box, filled
* Erratic Searches: Excessive unrelated searches within very short period of times.
o Example: Dog, Sony Plasma TV, Einstein, newyek, repsev, newyork,...

Commenting:

* Excessive amount of short non-descript comments.
o Example: great, i like it, cool, fun etc...
* Repeated comments
o Example: recommended site, recommended site!, I recommend this site
* Invalid words within comments
o Example: asdfadfadsfsadfadslkal;kjfdlakjfdalsjfa, $@#%&^%^
* Vulgar comments: Profanity or offensive content.
* Self promotion: Excessive promotional statements about your own site.

Promotional efforts

* Instructing others on how to game the Scour rewards system (Youtube videos, blog posts etc...)

Email Invites:

* Emails sent to users who you have never had any previous interaction with.
* Emails that cause multiple spam complaints from users.

No Self Invited Accounts or Multiple Accounts Under A Single User

Notes:

* Any banned account within your friend network will deduct points earned from that friend.
* Please do not violate the rewards system. It is something we are trying to offer to you as an incentive. Don't abuse it.


Negative Behavior or Inappropriate Language - Hate speech, discriminatory words and negative behavior are not acceptable. Don't use sexual or vulgar language or images. No insulting others, using slurs or objectionable terms. No spam or soliciting. Don't Use Scour For Personal or Financial Gain. Do not use Scour to proposition people or promote your products/services. Refrain from comments that aren't related to the listing. Don't Break Local or Federal Laws While Using Scour. Do not attempt to trick people into sharing their personal information, don't harass, threaten, impersonate or hurt others, don't invade the privacy of others, don't try to steal anything copyrighted, trademarked, or otherwise not yours... don't break any laws. Do not link to or promote any site that has viruses or other malicious programs that may interfere with Scour or with other users.

Creating multiple accounts or posting any content just to gain more points or solicit others for points is not accepted. Copy/pasting other users' comments and answers, as well as posting filler answers, questions or comments is also considered cheating. Don't post the same thing multiple times.

Now here are a few of the things I like better about Scour than Swagbucks! But don't get me wrong, In my opinion, they're both great and can be used side by side daily to combine your earnings online!

- Scour awards you up to 300 points per day, whereas Swagbucks only awards randomly and you can probably only win a few times per day.

- Scour also awards you points for commenting and voting on searches you perform. Swagbucks doesn't have this option.

- Scour awards you 25% of the points your friends make, for life. Swagbucks awards you up to 100 bucks and then that's it.

- Scour has a message system where you can contact your referrals and help them if they aren't sure how to use the site. Swagbucks doesn't have this!

- Scour gives you the option to customize your search results so that it shows results only or mostly from your favorite search engines, eg Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. You can set it to bring in results 100% from Google if you'd like. This makes it a much better search engine than Swagbucks.


I've only been using it for a couple days and I'm already up to 280 points! Sign up at Scour.com and start earning points too! After all, you SHOULD be getting paid to search!
