Make Money Online Free

content copyrighted button I decided to write this post because of something that has happened to me recently. Because of the success I’ve been having with this blog, Make Money Online Free, there’s a certain person that has decided to copy a lot of my content. Thanks to one of my blogger friends, I was alerted that the same exact copy of my article was found on this person’s blog. On doing some more research, I saw that this person also had several other posts of mine copied, apparently she’s been doing this for a while.

I contacted her in a very civil manner even though I was pissed about it and asked her to remove my content. She did so, and apologized claiming she had no idea that it was copied content because she was “paying someone to create content” for her. Ok. I didn’t buy it, but I accepted her apology. She even gave me a name and where she found this person that she was “paying” for content. I contacted him, and he told me he had no idea what I was talking about. At the time, I couldn’t take any action against either party because how could I tell who was lying or not. It would just be based on a gut feeling. So I let it go.

Some time after, while browsing around visiting some of my blogger friends, I randomly click on a link to another blogger’s profile. A completely different name than the person who first copied my content.

Imagine my surprise when I read their About Me section, and see .. well basically.. about ME! Why would someone copy my “about me” section? Is it that hard for someone to come up with something about themselves? Do they have no personality that they feel the need to copy the personality of someone else?

If you aren’t sure about which section I’m talking about, this is my “about me” on blogger.

I’m just me. I’m a regular 22 year old girl. Always ready to have fun. Loveeee to dance! Crazy about music. I’m very approachable and always willing to help. Currently interested in making some cash online without spending a cent. Let’s see how I do a year from now ;) Anything else you’d like to know.. drop a line!

Now this person had exactly the same as above, word for word, same amount of “e’s” in “Loveeee” just their age changed. She’s older than I am. And you would think she’d know better.

Again, I contacted the owner, at the time not knowing it was the same person as before, and asked her to take it down. She didn’t. While visiting a few of her blogs and seeing her referral links lead to the same person’s as before, it clicked. This was the same person that copied my content previously, just using a different name.

Honestly, I find it sort of amusing. So I’m guessing she also “paid this person to create her blogger profile”. *eyeroll*

Oh and incase I forget to mention, this person also got busted for copying someone else’s content on a different site of hers a while after she was found to copy mine.

So the question comes about.. my dear blogger friends, what do you do when someone copies your content?

Yes I said when and not “if” because if you’re serious about blogging, then trust me, it WILL happen to you. There are so many lazy people out there that refuse to write their own original content so they use the copy/paste function whenever they can.

So being a target of copied content, I would like to inform my readers on steps you can take when this happens to you. The more informed and prepared you are, the better the chances of you dealing with it.

So what can you do when someone steals your content?

Well there are ALOT of things to do!

First of all, keep your cool and try your best to be professional. Talking from experience, I can understand that you would be extremely annoyed, however, I suggest contacting the person and calmly asking them to remove your content. Some people steal and couldn’t care less. Even if the response you get is unprofessional (like the comment I received on this blog that was rejected after I asked that my content be removed), you be the bigger person.

If that doesn’t work, and if the blog that copies your content is a Blogger blog, Blogger has a Content Policy and a Digital Millennium Copyright Act!

Blogger takes copying content seriously as they do not want to risk getting sued. By filling out this online form to report a blogger blog, you can provide more details on the blog that has copied content and have them take a look at it.

There are also several other actions you can take when dealing with copied content. Since this blog is focused on making money online, I will not be going into all of them, however I’ve found a very detailed and informative article that is definitely worth your read if you’re into the blogging world.

Please visit What Do You Do When Someone Steals Your Content for more information.

It’s a saying that imitation is the best form of flattery, however sometimes, you can’t let thieves get away after they’ve committed a crime and justice must be served.

To all my bloggers out there that have originality in their content, more power to you!

    I don't know where people get off copying other people's content. Some people who do that actually think it's normal to do such things. You're right – it is a form of flattery. It can also be highly disrespectful.

    For some people, it might also be a confidence issue gone wrong, but it doesn't give them the right or the excuse to plagiarize.

    The internet's big but it ain't so big that no-one will catch on to what some online plagiarists do. I hope the person who copied your content has learnt their lesson – they have to realise that they're much better than that.

    No-one can take away your shine, hun. You're too bright. You keep rocking you.

    I can see where your anger is coming from, but know that there are sites people out there that will pay for people to write articles for them if they are making enough money to fund them.

    This case is a bit fishy, and I do think she is lieing to you, but stuff like this does happen.

    question? did they change the links in your articles? if not I find it funny as you would still get credit for people signing up lol

    @ebele

    Thanks alot for always sticking up for me :) Really means alot and if it means anything, I love your writing style and originality! ;)

    Yes, I agree with you, it can definitely be disrespectful when you've worked so hard on a post and then visit someone else's blog to see the entire thing copied.

    @Izzy

    Heyy! It's been a while, hope all is well.

    Yeah I do understand that there are places people pay for content on the net, that's why I gave this person the benefit of doubt when I first saw the copied content. However, after it's happened a second and third time, it really becomes old.. and when it comes to people copying your profile's about me section! I'm doubting there's anyone that pays to have that created.

    As for the links, yes they did change them to theirs, which is what made it look obvious that they knew exactly what they were doing.

    …you're welcome, hun :-)

    take care…

    oh my God. That is the MOST annoying thing ever! i don't know if i can keep my cool if someone copies my content flagrantly like that. jeez. that's just SO low. i loved how you handle this situation. why do we have to encounter people like that. augh. anyway, you have proven that you are one classy lady so you just keep doing what you do. karma works both ways ;)

  6. TriNi

    @K

    Thanks :) Yup, it's definitely really annoying, but there are lots of ways to deal with it like I talked about. Besides, copying content doesn't mean the person is actually having success with it.. and also, it's very easy to prove who had the content first because Google "caches" everything! ;)

    Thanks for stopping by!

    Hey Trini, Nice to see you keep your cool through all this, I though we were going to have a hayday from what I saw on the CashCrate Forums. Anyways, all the more power to you for keeping your cool. Best of luck!

  8. got a job???

    I've had this happen to me.

    From what I can tell this guy has a site that steals content from other sites and I was one of the sites they where stealing from.

    I contacted them and asked them to stop. They didn't respond back and still showed my content.

    I realized they where using a some short of program to steal content from other sites and since I wasn't able to get them to stop taken stuff my site I try to make sure I put a link to my site in each of my post (I actually try to link to that post) that way at least I get linked backed.

    and if I remember I try post stuff from that blog before I am done writing, because I notice the program they use to steal content from only takes stuff from the first time someone post and doesn't go back to steal any changes. That way the people that click on there site from the thief will get more content and hopefully start following my site instead of the crooks.

    @got a job

    That's actually some really great advice! I've read that linking thing somewhere else as well so I'm not trying to do that with all of my post.

    I'm not sure if this person was using a program or not.. I highly doubt it though. But thanks! I'm definitely going to start doing that!

    !!!!! These people!!!

    I just started blogging a month ago as well, and the heart and soul you put into a blog makes you so proud.

    I just don't understand people sometimes, this is like having your identity stolen but in a different form!!

    The fact that they had the nerve to keep the "about me" part is not right. Thats describes you, who you are and what you do. Its ok though, Karma will come back to them it always does. Don't worry to hard about it though, you built a fan base and they are here to support you good luck in the future!

    @ Raj,

    Yup, it's gonna happen. :( There are too many lazy people that refuse to do work themselves and prefer to sponge on the efforts of others. Like you said, Karma is a ***** ;) and I'll keep doing my thing!

  12. Got a Job???

    @TriNi

    It can be hard to tell if the person is using a program or just cut and pasting your content form your site.

    If it just happens every now and then it maybe them cutting and pasting.

    but if it happens all the time they maybe using some short of program to steal content.

    Also if you do but back links in your post and notice the link is on the other sites post you can assume it's either a program or someone to dumb to change the link.

  13. TriNi

    @ Got a Job?

    Yeah, I know that. But all the links were changed, so I really believe this person knows exactly what they did.
