Make Money Online’s Total Earnings Update – December 2011!

Yes yes, I know that we’re in 2012 and actually 3 months of the year is almost over, but that’s how behind I’ve been with my total earnings post. Going to school full time, while holding down a job full time, and still doing my daily duties at home and what not, has taken over my life and I haven’t had enough time to blog. It’s sad, but it’s the way life goes. I’ve been trying to still maintain this blog however, and the good news is even when I’m inactive for a while, I still continue to make money online from it!

As promised, here is the run down of the total amount of money I made in December of 2011. Click on the screenshots for a larger view, it will open in a new window.

Cashcrate: $71.92

Google Adsense: $135 (approximated for privacy reasons)

Logical Media: $104.33

Amazon Gift cards:
I get amazon gift cards from a bunch of different sites I make money on. Some of them are the main ways I cash out, such as Swagbucks, Zoombucks and iRazoo, while others I get from sites like Cashcrate and Dollar Click or Sign Up where I have redeemed my points for Amazon gift cards. Since I haven’t been great at keeping track of my payments lately, it’s sort of hard for me to tell you exactly how much in Amazon gift cards came from each site, but buy using Amazon’s View Gift Card Balance feature, I can show you the combined worth of the gift cards I’ve received and entered on Amazon.com. As you can see from the screenshot below, I’ve earned a total of $155 in Amazon gift cards from these sites in December. That sure did help out when it came to shopping for Christmas presents!

Considering how little time I’ve spent on this blog over the past few months, I’d say that’s a great figure! It just goes to show that making money online is a long term thing and if you’re willing to put in enough work to make your blog or website rank highly on search engines, then you can be reaping the rewards of passive income for many months/years to come without doing much else.

So what else can you look out for from “Make Money Online“?

I’m going to do total earnings updates in trimesters now (meaning every three months). Therefore since March is almost finished, you can look out for a new total earnings post which includes all the free money I’ve made online in the months of January, February and March of 2012. The next total earnings post will be done after the month of June, which will cover the next three months after March, and so on…

I’m also going to try to do some stable and informative posts. I’ve gotten a few request for post on specific topics, and I’ll try my best to get those out soon. I also have a few topics of my own I’d like to cover.

And last but not least, I’ll continue using this blog to make money. I always say that whether I earn $5 or $500 I’m happy. It’s money I didn’t have before I started, and with the current state of the economy and the amount of expenses I have lately, I’ll take it!

Is Vindale Research A Scam?

A long time ago, about two years to be exact, I did a post on Vindale Research talking about whether this company was a scam or whether it was actually legit. Within that time, I’ve promoted Vindale as one of the top paid survey sites on my “ways to make money online list“, but I must admit that even within that time, from then to now, so much has been going on in my life that I never got the time to do surveys there, and so never met payout.

Their banners claim that you can earn up to $75 per survey, and I’m sure this sounds like a scam to you! Well it’s actually not, but I agree that their wording is a bit misleading. However, to justify, they did put in brackets: Participation Required. These “surveys” that they claim you can earn up to $75 are actually trial offers or “product evaluations” as they refer to it (see below for a screenshot of the trial offers currently available to me).These are the same trial offers that you’d find on sites like Cashcrate, etc, and yes, they DO require a credit card. This doesn’t mean that you have to pay anything! These are almost always free trials that have a grace period where you try the product for free, and as long as you cancel the service before the grace period ends, your credit card is not charged a cent. However, if you’re like me and don’t feel comfortable giving out your credit card info, or you’re afraid you’ll forget to cancel in time and be charged (like me), then I’d advise you to just NOT do these offers. There ARE other ways to earn money on Vindale.

Vindale Research FREE Surveys that don’t require a credit card. They can be found under the “My Studies” tab in your Vindale Research account.

You can also earn extra cash for completing your profiles, which allow you to be qualified for more “studies” or free surveys, so it is highly recommended that you do it (even though I haven’t gotten the time to do mine yet).

Anyway, I have revisited Vindale a few weeks ago and was very happy with some of their recent updates and changes to the site. Here are few new things going on at VindaleResearch.com

First of all, they’ve added new ways for their members to earn! They’ve added “paid videos”, where you can earn a few cents extra just for watching videos. Off course these only pay approximately $0.03 cents per video, so I would not recommend doing just this and trying to meet their payout limit of $50. This would take you more than 2 years.

NEW way to make money on Vindale Research by watching videos.

Another update I saw was that they now send out more Reward Emails. These are emails that are sent to your inbox and you get paid to read them. There is a link at the bottom of the email which you click on, to show that you have read the email. These are worth $0.05 each. These are an easy way to increase your earnings on Vindale, but again I wouldn’t recommend relying on it to reach payout of $50.

And last but not least, after you become a member of Vindale, be sure to like the on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, and keep up with their blog, because they have begun adding numerous contests where you can win cash!

This will allow you to reach payout of $50 in about a month or two for the most I’d say… possibly much sooner.

Scholarships – Free Money For College Students!

College is definitely NOT cheap, and this is me talking from experience! But I’m sure if you’ve stumbled upon this article, then you’re probably a college student yourself and I don’t need to tell you this. Here in the State of New York, there are a few grants that the government offer, as financial aid to college students. Unfortunately, if you’re like me, a married middle class family without children, then chances are you don’t qualify for it. I didn’t qualify for it. What the government fails to realize is that their qualification requirements are too rigid, and being middle class does NOT mean that you can afford to pay out of pocket for college. After all, we have other responsibilities such as rent, bills, and oh yeah, we gotta eat! Being that I’m forced to take student loans to cover most of my college expense, I went on a hunt for scholarships that I can apply for. My only opportunity at some free money for college, some much needed help!

Here are a few sites that I’ve come across that will either provide you with a chance at winning scholarships, or will give you more information on where you can find more scholarships.

This site allows you to earn points for doing a variety of things such as completing surveys, liking them on Facebook, following them on Twitter, and even updating your profile! I have found that it’s quite easy to earn points which can be entered into monthly $1000 scholarship drawings, or $10,000 scholarship drawings that run every three months. It’s completely free to join, so even if you think it’s all a sham and you’ll never actually win any “free money”, give it a try… you have nothing to lose!

Zinch’s Weekly Scholarship
Every week, there’s a new question posted. You have to answer the question within 280 characters MAX, for your chance to win $1000 scholarship. See the winners on their blog, and be sure to check back every Monday for a new question, and new opportunity to win free college money.

Scholarships.com has a ton of information on different types of scholarships, including academic and merit, athletic, disability, and even some very unusual scholarships for people with unusual talents, etc. I’m sure you’ll be able to find something you can apply for there.

Cappex is a site that will match your profile with scholarships available for you to apply for.

Sallie Mae Scholarship Search
This is probably the largest and most reliable college scholarship database available. Complete your profile and you’ll be matched with a list of scholarships you can apply to. You’ll also be able to see the deadline and amount of the scholarship.

Bottom line is, college is expensive. If you’re a college student, I’m sure you need every bit of help you can get when it comes to paying for your college education. Obama keeps talking about how everyone should aim for a higher education than high school status, but he’s not saying how we should pay for it!

This has been my absolute favorite survey site to make money online for several reasons. They pay quickly, as fast as the next day via PayPal.
